Whole Match Played:
1 Stroud - 4 Lambon
Same team as the match before, CBFC looking for a third win on the Bounce. To win a match in 5-a-side and to keep a clean sheet is very impressive and hard to do, M. Stroud had an excellent game and the team defended solidly, expecially in the dying periods to keep a clean sheet, Lambon's goal was a masterclass in goalscoring.
50/50 possession, M. Stroud making good stops. Lucho going close with a curler towards the far post, Ben unlucky with his shot immediately after. Decent chances were hard to come by, the first goal was also going to be hard to come by.
Goal 1-0 [Wrench] Lucho sets Wrench off down the right, he cuts back to find Ben, his shot rebounds off the side, Wrench follows it up and hits the ball slightly off the ground back into the ground across the keeper.
Goal 2-0 [B. Stroud] M. Stroud rolls the ball to Wrench who runs the ball into B. Stroud's path for him to take it on open his body and pass it into the far corner.
An attack from Diesel Dogs ends with a pointblank save from M. Stroud. Mike's close free kick, B. Stroud's long range effort just wide and finally Lambon's strike which was somehow saved all prevented the score getting to three and sandwiched in between the great saves, from CBFC's number 1 as proved with another diving save.
Goal 3-0 [B. Stroud] All started with another fine shot stop and M. Stroud picks out B. Stroud who works himself a shot on goal, Wrench hits the rebound back towards B. Stroud, this time he finds the back of the net.
Goal 4-0 [B. Stroud] Good high pressure from the whole team as B. Stroud wins the ball off the defender and notches himself another hat-trick in under 6 minutes.
M. Stroud makes up for a bad pass with another great save. The pressure started to build as goalscorer B. Stroud came off, chances were not getting created and CBFC's goal was coming under some fire. Ben's forced save from the goalkeeper calmed the nerves, Wrench's follow up was harshly called up for a foul as he wrestles the ball away from the defender and puts it into the goal.
Half-Time Score: Cillit Bang FC 4-0 Diesel Dogs
Goal 5-0 [B. Stroud] Against the run of play, with the Diesel Dogs defender out of position, M. Stroud sets off Lambon down the left, Lambon picks the right time to pass it in the centre, B. Stroud needs a simple touch and he blasts it in the goal.
Diesel Dogs were searching for the goal they needed, Cillit Bang FC were holding firm without lots possession with the ball, any chance they got was a good one... Lambon going extremely close.
A clear early man of the match performance from M. Stroud, cataching two dangerous shots and diving to his left to stop another all in the space of a minute.
It was important for Cillit Bang FC players not to commit too many players on attacks to become susceptible to the counter attack as was a known issue from past experiences.
Goal 6-0 [B. Stroud] Lucho reads and intercepts the pass, squares the ball to B. Stroud for a free shot on goal. A Cillit Bang FC first of a five goal haul. B. Stroud almost wanted to come off just moments earlier.
Perhaps a dangerous move when the CBFC defence of Lucho and Wrench came off as subs with 10 minutes to go, what would the shape of the time be, even though the game maybe won there was a looming clean sheet to defend.
Ben lucky in covering his mistake after trying to back heel the ball on the edge of his area. The resulting free kick from that piece of play was tipped round the post by M. Stroud. With Lambon in a more adventurous position CBFC had 3 or 4 forward thinking players on the pitch at once in a nervous time in the game, the players were holding up well. Possession was kept more efficiently and Ben was unlucky to shoot straight at the keeper.
Nervous moments included a shot coming off the back of M. Stroud next to the goal and Mike touching the ball in his area, was it a penalty... no he was fouled.
Diesel Dogs were getting increasingly frustrated as they could not find a way through, M. Stroud refused to get beaten in goal, fouls they were not getting or conceding, resulted in a talking to from the referee.
Goal 7-0 [Lambon] M. Stroud rolls the ball out to Lambon, the defender can not quite win the ball, Lambon quick footed brings the ball out his feet and down the line with great finesse, with the outside of his left foot he smashes it across the goal in off the post. Strong contender for goal of the season.
Second Half Score: Cillit Bang FC 3-0 Diesel Dogs
Final Result: Cillit Bang FC 7 - 0 Diesel Dogs
