The Points Continue to Pile Up
Team News: Gonzo was still feeling unwell while A. Muppet and Oscar were unavailable to participate.
Previous Results: Played 5 Won 4 Lost 1 - Despite 4 wins on the trot the solid defence of TDFC always provides CBFC with a tough encounter.
First Half
Starting the match with a view to securing as many points as possible from the league campaign, the early chances fell to the team in the higher placing in the league. Kermit already on a couple of shots blocked close up brought down a ball at the back post from a Rizzo kick before striking the ball from close range against the TDFC player hovering on the floor, Swedish Chef quickly followed up when he had all the time in the world. TDFC worked their first chance with good play down the wing, the cross was matched albeit with less quality as the header directed the ball past the post. Other than this CBFC were constantly pinching possession back but not really going anywhere, Rizzo glanced a header at goal for a comfortable save and Chef forced the keeper into a save but a better option was a square ball to Beaker.
Goal 0-1 // TDFC
Whoops, having a corner descend into a counter attack Chef wins the ball back but dangerously passes the ball towards Fozzie instead of clearing the ball. Fozzie's 'with haste' clearance catches the off balance TDFC player ridiculously with the sole of the right boot allowing himself time to compose and finish.
Again another move involving the three CBFC top scorers. Kermit winning back the ball with a tackle Rizzo and Chef linking up for another shooting opportunity and another hit wide. With a shot coming at a rate of 1 a minute it was a failure in hitting the target that was letting the side down.

At last there was a breakthrough good work from Kermit brought the ball from Fozzie's box infield to Beaker. His pass to the back post was intercepted midway by Rizzo, through on goal the target was never going to be missed at such close range, the equaliser was in the bag before half time.
Having pulled the goal back facing an immediate response Fozzie made his first save within seconds of the kick off, using quick feet to shuffle across the save carried the ball onto the post for a corner. The fun continued, Fozzie while cleaning up a poor corner pushes the ball away from goal only to find a nearby TDFC player to instinctively head the ball at goal. Going wide and possibly facing another TDFC striker getting to the ball Beaker clears the ball off the player for a goal kick.
Second Half
Goal 2-1 // 12 Rizzo - Assist 17 Swedish Chef
The lead was taken early into the half with the first attack on goal. Fozzie's goalkick was collected and brought infield by Swedish Chef before firing off the shot. Rizzo picked up the rebound from the keeper's save laying the ball off to Chef for another shot. Blocked on the line by a defender the rebound falls for the second time to the alert Rizzo for the tap in.
Big Bird won the ball back before dribbling forward with the ball cutting inside before unleashing the shot to crash off the post. The weather was swelteringly hot however the shots were raining on the TDFC goal. Rizzo and Swedish Chef combined well in the opposition half to work two guilt edge chances within moments of each other, sadly Chef took them a bit too quick finding defender and keeper. Off the corner Beaker picked out Rizzo to perfection and moments later after a few tackles his left foot shot lacked the direction to goal.
Goal 3-1 // 14 Kermit - Assist 12 Rizzo
The intensity didn't let up with Kermit intercepting the pass knocking the possession to Rizzo making the run towards the box to place a lovely finish back past the keeper from a cutting through ball by Rizzo.
Beaker burst onto the scene after the third goal with a couple of blocked shots. With little to lose, TDFC players were found higher up the pitch as a trickle of shots appeared with Fozzie making a vital save with five minutes to go to keep the opponents at arms length. A couple of injures to team CBFC came in the last quarter. The main culprit of the recent shots took a chunk out of Kermit's leg upon being tackled. Swedish Chef on the other hand brought a self-inflicted injury after chasing down the ball, planting his left foot awkwardly on the turf. Both he and Chef had to carry on playing as the touchline was looking mighty lonely from the lack of subs.
Goal 4-1 // 12 Rizzo - Assist 17 Swedish Chef
Beaker nipping in front of the striker to win the ball passes to Rizzo, his resulting flick over handballed by the TDFC striker, however with advantage played Chef knocks the ball across for Rizzo to power the ball into the back of the net for his hat-trick.
Beaker almost curled in the ball with the outside of his boot with the last shot of the game, and quite a lively one at that.
