The league leaders started well yet Schieber was well equipped in goal to deal with any problems. Gotze in the striker's position came unlucky with his turn and shot after Schieber's goal kick drifted perfectly over the defender's head into Gotze's feet. Close to the five minute mark great pressure from Luke punished the slow play from the keeper leaving Gotze to pick up the unaware defender's pass. Smashing the ball first time with just the keeper to beat Gotze realised he picked the wrong option with plenty of time to take on the goalkeeper. Sadly for Gotze the last chance from his trio provided a similar outcome to chance no. 2. A different build up from Schieber's goal kick landing over the top of the defence but it was the decision again by Gotze to smash the ball first time. After missing a hatful of chances upon the thirteenth attempt with little time left remaining the deadlock was broken.
Whilst the game did not wait before it tasted another goal having gone 2 goals up the lead was cut short five minutes later. Lewandowski latched onto Sahin's kick in taken almost on his own goal line. A minute later Gotze received the ball from Hummels tackle and clearance, turning Lewandowski picked up the ball away from his marker to slot the ball through the keeper's legs. The scores were level again despite the massive difference in shots on goals between the sides.
Having outplayed CBFC for the match the quick-fire goals had an effect of shock to The Holt, as they came to terms of having to score again with time running out. CBFC had a few glimpses in attack to perhaps nab another goal. Sahin had 30 seconds of misfortune which cost the game, having cleared a defensive header back along the edge of his box, too his delight Schieber made the required save. However from the corner the ball ended up out wide, Sahin staying with the man and trying not to be beaten made the error of sending his tackle back into his box, disaster struck with the goal conceded.
